ISO Audit News

Our 2006 ISO surveillance audit is completed and we have done quite well.  Except for a few minor issues, the auditor was pleased in the way Creative Apparel has maintained and continues to improve its Quality Management System.  We will be recommended for continued certification.

Let's continue working hard to improve our system.

Pinetree Camp Benefits From Creative Apparel Employee Generosity.

Harmony Plant employees raised $421.00 for the Pine Tree Camp Egg Run. The plant had a bake sale, cashed in bottles and accepted donations from Harmony employees. Pine Tree Camp provides Summer Activities for handicapped children.

Spurred on by a bit of friendly inter-plant rivalry, the Dover Plant raised $450.00 for Pine Tree Camp through a bake sale, holding a raffle, cashing in bottles and employee's donations.

Not to be outdone, the Indian Township Plant did a one-day fundraising blitz and raised $160.00.  The total raised for Pine Tree Camps by Creative Apparel employees is $1031.00.

Since the Holidays, the Belmont Plant has held several pot-luck luncheons and so far, has collected $225.00 to benefit the Soup Kitchen at St. Francis Parish in Belfast.

Creative Apparel Employees Share During the Christmas Season.

Not only at Christmas but throughout the year, Creative Apparel employees hold fundraising events, luncheons, raffles, etc. donating the proceeds to local organizations.  In late Summer and through the Fall, the Soup Kitchen often benefits.  At other times it may be the Lung Association, or an employee or member of the community who has suffered illness or a loss.

With a promise of the company matching employee donations, the employees of Creative Apparel contributed $2,329.05.  The company did more than match employee contributions by generously rounding the total to $5,000.00.

TREK UPDATE

I'd like to thank everyone who contributed so generously to my bicycle ride in the Trek Across Maine these last few years.

As of now, I have no plans to ride next year.  The lack of time available for training, and the uncertainty of weather and road conditions during early Spring are among the reasons I've decided not to ride.  Of course, next Winter I may have a change of heart but as of now, I will not be riding.

Because the American Lung Association of Maine is such a worthy cause and the money raised by the Trek does so much good within the State, I will be happy to funnel any donations you care to make to one of the many Trekkers I've come to know who will be riding.

Thank you.

Ed. Gervais
